Must the driver or passengers wear seat belts?
Must an infant be in a child safety seat?
Must a young child be in a booster seat?
Does Dial 7 supply infant seats or booster seats?
Officially, drivers of for-hire vehicles and yellow medallion taxicabs and their
passengers are exempt from laws regarding car seats and seat belts. Children under
the age of seven (7) are permitted to sit on an adult’s lap.

What is the capacity of the various vehicles?
FULL SIZE 4 DOOR SEDAN: 1 to 4 passengers, 3 medium size bags.
LUXURY SEDAN: (Lincoln Town Car, Cadillac, etc.) Same as above.
MINI VAN: Up to 5 passengers with 5 pieces of luggage. Less people, more luggage
capacity.
VANS: 6 through 13 passengers. Luggage capacity is directly related to the number
of passengers. Less people, more luggage capacity.
Note: 13 passengers Van can carry 13 passengers with carry-on or up to 10 passengers
with 8 suitcases.
LIMOUSINES: 6 through 10 passengers with 4 pieces of luggage.
6 passengers limousine 4 pieces of luggage.
8 passengers limousine 4 pieces of luggage.
10 passengers limousine 4 pieces of luggage.

Does Dial 7 provide handicapped accessible vehicles?
In compliance with The American’s With Disabilities Act, you may reserve
an unmarked, handicapped accessible vehicle by calling us at 212-777-7777 or toll
free at 800-777-8888.

Will Dial 7 carry a Service Dog?
Yes, just be sure to tell our operator you will be traveling with a service dog
or select the “SERVICE DOG” option when reserving on line.

|
May I bring my pet in a Dial 7 vehicle?
Yes. Be sure to tell our operator you will be traveling with a pet or select the
“PET” option when reserving on line.
*All cats must be in carriers. All dogs must be leashed and dogs over 25 pounds
must travel in a mini-van.

|
How old must my child be to travel alone?
At least 16 years old. All children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by
an adult.

Can I get a receipt when I pay in cash?
The driver will be happy to provide you with a cash receipt.

Who is responsible for any tolls incurred during my trip?
You
are responsible for the tolls.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Why does the driver sometimes charge me the toll for his return trip, even though
I won’t be in the car?
You are responsible to pay the driver’s return toll to Manhattan, only when
there is no way for the driver to return to Manhattan without paying a toll. For
example: A driver can return to Manhattan from JFK or LaGuardia Airports without
incurring a toll, but he cannot return to Manhattan from Newark airport without
paying a toll. Therefore, you are responsible for paying his return toll when you
are dropped off at Newark Airport.

Is tipping mandatory? If so, is there a set percentage I must tip?
In most cases, tipping
is not mandatory. If you choose to tip, the percentage is at your discretion.
The only
exception is when traveling is a stretch limousine. Limousines have a mandatory
20% gratuity.

May I pay with a personal or business check?
No, we do not accept checks.
|
|
|
Can I get a price online without making a reservation?
Yes, go to Online Reservations on
our home page.
|
|
|
How is waiting time charged?
Waiting time is charged at 15 minute increments.
|
|
|
Is there a “grace period” before I must start paying for waiting time?
|
|
|
If
you keep the driver waiting less than 10 minutes there is no charge but if you go
over 10 minutes, you will be charged the entire 15 minutes.
|
|
|
Does the fare include tolls and tip?
No, the fare does not include tolls, tip, waiting time or additional stops.
|
|
|

Credit Card Payment
|
|
|
When I make a reservation using my credit card, am I actually paying for the trip?
No, you are simply getting pre-approval to be able to use your credit card. Your
credit card company will temporarily hold funds (minimum $75) for 3 to 5 business
days waiting for the actual charge to be put through. If no charge is made, the
hold will be released.

Can I pay for a trip with a credit card by giving my credit card number to the operator
over the phone or entering my card number on line?
No,
you must present the card to the driver at the time of pick up.
|
|
|
If I reserve a car with my credit card, can I pay in cash at the time of the trip?
Yes, but remember, the temporary hold on your credit card will last 3 to 5 business
days before the funds are available for use.
|
|
|
Can I use my debit card to pay for a ride?
Yes, but remember the temporary hold on your bank account funds will be a minimum
of $75 until the actual sale is processed.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

I think I left something in a Dial 7 car, how can I get it back?
Call our office at 212-777-7777 or 800-777-8888 and ask for Customer Service. Our
agent will gather your information and try to locate your property.

If you find my property, how can I get it back?
Items may be retrieved at our office located at 43-23 35th Street, Long Island City,
NY 11101, between Queens Blvd. and 43rd Ave.
|
|
|
Or, if
you wish to have FedEx pick up the item, notify our Customer Service Representative
at 800-777-8888 that FedEx will be making the pick up. You must contact FedEx directly
and pay for the pick up.

|
|
|
|
Corporate Accounts
|
|
|
What are the requirements for opening a corporate account?
Corporate accounts must use a minimum of $2000 worth of service per month.
An automatic 20% gratuity is added to each trip.
You must be a New York based company with New York banking.
You must be in business for at least 4 years.
Our terms of payment are “Net 10 Days.”

How can my company apply for a Corporate Account?
Call our Customer Service Representative at 212-777-7777 or 800-777-8888 and ask
for an application form.

Does Dial 7 accept personal accounts?
No, only Corporate Accounts.
